Topic: FEET!- handling, grooming, protection & care
Keeping our dog’s paws healthy! Many people look at toenail trimming when they hear the clicking on the ground as the extent of taking care of their dog’s feet, but there is so much more than that!
Teaching your dogs that having their feet touched is safe and comfortable can greatly extend their long term health!
Long toenails lead to: split & broken toenails when they catch on things, which can lead to nail bed infections, which can lead to bone infections and amputations in extreme cases
Long toenails lead to changes in how their feet hit the ground and cause arthritis and other joint issues
If you live in Foxtail (cheat grass) country checking between their toes each night can save them uncomfortable costly infections when they travel into their skin
Burned, blistered, torn & cut pads are the most common injuries that affect dogs on adventures
Boots, are the worth it?
Let’s talk feet!
